Financial Planning & Analysis Partner
Trading since 1989, e.surv Chartered Surveyors is the UK's number one residential surveyor and the largest provider of property risk expertise and residential surveying services. To put it into numbers, we complete more than one property inspection every 12 seconds and employ over 600 surveyors from Land’s End to John O’Groats and Northern Ireland. This gives us the flexibility to offer nationwide coverage combined with invaluable local knowledge.
We're part of the LSL Property Services Group PLC, which includes household names Your Move and Reeds Rains as well as the mortgage network PRIMIS. We work with lenders, intermediaries, social housing entities and estate agents in addition to private customers
This role is focused on delivering high-quality financial analysis, insight, and performance reporting to support strategic decision-making across esurv.
The successful candidate will partner with business leaders to analyse financial and operational performance, identify trends and risks, and provide meaningful commentary and recommendations that drive business improvement. They will play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and scenario modelling, helping the organisation make informed commercial decisions and achieve its strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Analysis & Performance Optimisation
- Deliver high-quality performance insight and analytics using KPI and financial performance data.
- Produce variance analysis, identify trends and root causes, and provide clear, actionable commentary.
- Develop scenario models to assess market assumptions, business performance, and potential profit outcomes.
- Act as a trusted Finance Business Partner, providing commercial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making.
- Build robust financial models that enable leaders to evaluate options and make informed decisions quickly.
Strategic Analysis
- Monitor market, customer, and competitor trends, assessing their impact on business performance and future forecasts.
- Model strategic initiatives including market entry, market exit, acquisitions, and organic growth opportunities.
- Provide ad-hoc commercial analysis and business insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Translate complex financial data into compelling narratives that influence business actions.
Planning & Forecasting
- Support the end-to-end planning cycle, including:
- Long-range planning
- Annual budgeting
- Quarterly forecasting
- Rolling forecasts
- Ensure planning assumptions are robust, accurate, and consistently applied across the business.
- Work with stakeholders to challenge assumptions and improve forecast accuracy.
- Support the development of financial plans aligned to business strategy and growth objectives.
Essential Knowledge and Expertise :-
- Proven ability to identify trends, patterns, and relationships within financial and operational data, translating complex analysis into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
- Experience developing and presenting Long-Range Plans, annual budgets, forecasts, and business performance reviews.
- Strong track record in performance analysis, variance reporting, and commentary, with the ability to understand the drivers behind results and their impact on the wider business.
- Ability to create engaging and visually compelling presentations that bring business performance, strategy, and financial plans to life through insightful storytelling and narrative.
- Experience building financial models and conducting scenario planning to support strategic decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills with the confidence to present findings and recommendations to a range of stakeholders.
- Advanced technical skills, including:
- Excel
- Power BI
- Financial planning and forecasting tools
- Presentation and reporting software
- High attention to detail with a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work in fast-paced environments.
- Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively across multiple functions, teams, and levels of seniority.
- A proactive and commercially curious mindset, focused on turning insight into action and improving business performance.
Essential Experience & Qualifications :
- Qualified Accountant or finalist (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with experience in FP&A and/or Commercial Finance
Experience of working in large/corporate organisations with matrix reporting
Professional Services industry experience
Experience of working with FP&A systems
